One of the most powerful examples of this struggle is found in the life of Peter the Apostle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the night before Jesus was crucified, Peter made a bold declaration of loyalty. Yet Jesus, knowing Peter\u2019s heart and humanity, gently warned him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTruly I tell you,\u201d Jesus answered, \u201cthis very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.\u201d<br>\u2014&nbsp;<em>Matthew 26:34<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peter couldn\u2019t imagine failing Jesus. But just hours later, fear overtook faith. And exactly as Jesus said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cImmediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken\u2026 And he went outside and wept bitterly.\u201d<br>\u2014&nbsp;<em>Matthew 26:74\u201375<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Sound of Failure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That rooster\u2019s crow wasn\u2019t just a sound\u2014it was a moment of realization. Peter heard it and came face-to-face with his failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve all had \u201crooster crow\u201d moments\u2014times when we recognize we\u2019ve fallen short:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We said we\u2019d trust God, but gave in to fear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We promised change, but slipped back into old habits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We believed we were strong, but discovered our weakness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And like Peter, our first response is often shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>But That Was Not the End<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peter\u2019s story didn\u2019t end in failure\u2014and neither does yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the resurrection, Jesus didn\u2019t shame Peter. He restored him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJesus said to Simon Peter, \u2018Do you love me?\u2019 \u2026 \u2018Feed my sheep.\u2019\u201d<br>\u2014&nbsp;<em>John 21:15\u201317<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three times Peter denied Jesus. Three times Jesus invited him back into purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This wasn\u2019t a coincidence\u2014it was grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Forgiving Yourself Through God\u2019s Lens<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peter had to make a choice: stay stuck in shame, or receive the forgiveness Jesus was offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forgiving yourself means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accepting that God already knew your failure\u2014and still chose you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Believing that your mistake is not your identity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trusting that restoration is part of God\u2019s plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.\u201d<br>\u2014&nbsp;<em>1 John 1:9<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When You Hear the Rooster Crow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next time you\u2019re reminded of your past\u2014when regret creeps in like that early morning sound\u2014remember this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rooster crow was not Peter\u2019s ending. It was the beginning of his transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God doesn\u2019t replay your failures to condemn you\u2014He redeems them to restore you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Prayer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lord,<br>Help me release the weight of my past.<br>When I hear the \u201crooster crow\u201d in my life\u2014the reminders of where I\u2019ve failed\u2014<br>teach me not to run in shame, but to run toward Your grace.<br>Thank You that You restore, renew, and still call me by name.<br>Give me the courage to forgive myself as You have forgiven me.<br>Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are moments in life when regret echoes louder than truth\u2014when we replay our failures and feel defined by them.
